Year 5 enjoyed a day out at “Mere Tun” Anglo-Saxon village today.
They were all very excited to experience life in an Anglo-Saxon village. They learned so much about the way of life, as well as some important skills such as thatching, weaving and foraging. They even learned how to form a shield wall and had weapons training to defend their village from any Viking raiders.
The children (and staff!) had a truly amazing day - I'm sure that we will all remember the day at ‘Mere Tun’ for a long time.
