Today Year 5 visited 'Mere Tun' - the Anglo Saxon village at Martin Mere wetland centre.
The children could hardly wait to immerse themselves into the daily rhythms of an Anglo-Saxon village. They gained valuable insights into the lifestyle and acquired practical skills like thatching, weaving, and foraging.
Additionally, the children received battle training on how to form a shield wall and underwent weapons training to safeguard their village against potential Viking raids!
The children, along with the staff, had an exceptionally memorable experience at 'Mere Tun', one that will undoubtedly remain etched into their memories for years to come.
Well done year 5, your behaviour was excellent today and you were a credit to our school.
