Year 5 designed, built and launched their own rockets!
This week, Year 5 enjoyed an exciting interactive lesson with an engineer from BAE Systems, focused on creating and launching "stomp rockets." After learning about aerodynamics and the effect of wing designs on rocket flight, the children designed and made their own rockets using paper and sticky tape.
Outside, they tested their creations and compared the distances travelled.
The children learned valuable lessons about physics, engineering, and the scientific method. Overall, it was a fantastic hands-on learning experience, sparking curiosity and enthusiasm for science and engineering.
