St Mary Magdalen's Catholic Primary School

Already a much loved member of our school community the children waited eagerly in assembly to discover the name of our new school mascot. The winning name was suggested by Allan in Year 6 and his name is Eddie. He is called Eddie as an abbreviation for Edison. We like this name for two reasons, firstly because Thomas Edison invented the light bulb and that fits with our mission statement of letting you light shine. We liked it also because Thomas Edison is the composer of a great growth mindset quote. "I haven't failed, I have just found 10,000 ways that won't work. We love this as it demonstrates how when things don't quite right we learn from the this and have another go. We will get there in the end, just as Thomas Edison did.
